James J. Waiters

"It is with profound sadness that the family of James J. Waiters announces his passing on Sunday afternoon September 21, 2025. James passed away peacefully surrounded by his family."

James, affectionately known as Jimmy, was born in the Bronx, New York, son of James E. Waiters and the late Olivia R. (Venson) Waiters of New York, New York. James was educated in the New York City School system and spent his working career in patient services at Saint Clare's Hospital in New York City. Following his retirement, he relocated to the state of Pennsylvania.

He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed studying Black History, Black Art, painting and watching boxing. James also cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

Preceding him in death in addition to his mother, Olivia, was a sister, Darlene "Kenya" Waiters.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, James E. Waiters, children, Takisha, James, Christopher, Jenelle, Tiera, India, and Noah; a sister, Cynthia and brother, Terrick; multiple grandchildren and one great grandson, Lennox, as well as a host of extended family members.

His funeral service will be held on Friday October 3, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Yanac Funeral Home located at 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Grove Road South Sterling.

A viewing will be held on Friday October 3, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
