Richard J. Mullin, 83 of Long Pond, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his home.

Richard was born in Gainesville, Florida on September 6, 1942, as the son of the late James and Katherine (May) Mullin. He grew up in Bryn Mawr, PA and graduated from Monsignor Bonner Roman Catholic High School in Drexel Hill, PA. Richard served in the Navy and then worked as a respiratory therapist at Lankenau Hospital in Penn Wynne, PA. He married Joyce (McGloughlin) Mullin and later moved to Pocono Pines, PA, where they built a home in Lake Naomi and he started his own business as a house painter. Later in his career, Richard joined the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council #711 out of Springfield, NJ, where he held the office of Treasurer and worked as a painter in various locations throughout NJ until his retirement.

Richard enjoyed the craft of caning antique chairs. He was a big fan of jazz music and loved listening to his grandson play the piano and cello. He was also a talented baker, known for his delicious cinnamon buns.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife Joyce Mullin who passed away on November 3, 2022, his brother, Stephen Mullin, and sister, Joan Hodgson.

Surviving is his daughter, Melissa Sadowski, son-in-law Robert Sadowski and grandson Roman Sadowski of Edison, NJ, brother, Thomas Mullin of Upper Darby, PA and sister, Ann-Louise Mattichak of Hickory, NC, as well as other extended family members.

A celebration of life will be planned in the spring. Cremation services will be private.
