Ronald Malti Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 10, 2026.
Ronald John Malti, 78, of Hawley, died at home on Sunday, February 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Mullen on March 24, 2011. The couple married on January 3, 1970.

Born on May 19, 1947 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late William J. Malti Sr. and Florettia (Kennedy) Malti. Ron served in the PA National Guard.

Ronnie was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with those he loved. He looked forward to being together, and his steady love, loyalty, warm sense of humor, and commitment to his family and friends will always be remembered. He went above and beyond for the people in his life, always willing to lend a hand or show up when it mattered most.Throughout his career, Ronnie was a committed real estate investor who managed several rental properties. He could always be found mowing grass, clearing snow, and fixing anything and everything at the rentals. No one worked harder than Ronnie. A devoted and caring landlord, he consistently went above and beyond for his tenants.Outside of work, Ronnie found joy in the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Hawley Gun Club and especially enjoyed feeding the birds in the backyard.Ronnie was a NASCAR fan and loved the thrill of racing-an excitement he experienced firsthand when he had the chance to take several laps around Pocono Raceway.Ronnie will be deeply missed; his loss is profound, and his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will remain with us always.

Surviving are his children, Christina Olear of Doylestown, John Malti and wife Nicole of Hawley and Amy Malti of Winter Garden, FL; his brother, Jerry Malti and wife Barbara of Honesdale; sisters, Peggy Malti and Joyce Malti both of Louisiana; grandchildren, Jenna Malti, Victor Olear, Nicholas Olear, Nicholas Bates and Kayla Bates; his significant other, Karin Mitschele.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Malti and William Malti Jr.; his sister, Nancy Malti.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 13th at B.V.M. Queen of Peace Church in Hawley at 10 am. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Honesdale. Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Thursday, 4 to 7.
