Robert Glasgow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Teeters' Funeral Chapel (a.k.a. Teeters' East Chapel) from Mar. 13 to Mar. 14, 2026.
On March 8, 2026, Robert J. Glasgow, Jr., known to many as Bob and to the lucky ones as Pop, passed away peacefully in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He slipped away with the grace of a receding tide, anchored by faith and surrounded by the family he adored.

Born in Hawley, Pennsylvania, in 1947, Bob's youth was a montage of car-burying beach adventures and horse-head mask antics. Though possessed of a booming voice, he was a reluctant performer; he once famously sang for a Congressional fundraiser, losing his lunch beforehand but winning over the crowd anyway.

Bob traded the classroom for the coastline by enlisting in the Navy, a journey that took him from Monterey to Puerto Rico to Cuba. As a radio specialist, he monitored military communications with a steady hand and discovered a lifelong love for fresh seafood, finally trading canned tuna for halibut and conch. Later in life you could often find him eating oysters on the half shell and thoroughly enjoying each one.

Once back in Pennsylvania, Bob was a man of the outdoors, golfing, hunting, and fishing (despite the occasional fishhook in the thumb). He served his community through the school board and church, and spent years dedicating his time volunteering with the Special Olympics, modeling his service-minded approach to life. Above all, he was a devoted partner to his wife, Fawn. He lived to make her smile, surprising her with flowers "just because" and whisking her away on spontaneous "mystery trips" to explore new places together. He was a man who spoke his mind to stand up for the outliers.

He once personally ensured the city of Boston stayed solvent by paying for his daughter's garage at her apartment, another on campus, and every single ticket and towing fee she racked up for parking on the street anyway. He was equally invested in his son, maintaining a fierce "house-divided" rivalry between his beloved Giants and his son's Eagles. Through every touchdown and fumble, Bob was always his children's biggest, if most opinionated, fan.

In his later years in Ann Arbor, he found a new rhythm, working at his grandson's school for the sole purpose of "joking" him daily, enjoying weekly grandkid sleepovers with "goodnight cookies" and serving as the neighborhood's unofficial Saint Francis for every dog in search of a treat.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Fawn Glasgow (née Osias); his children, Adam (Kim) Glasgow and Kaelyn (Paul) Brennan; his grandchildren, Lauren Delaney Mizic, Cullen Glasgow, Leif Glasgow, Jack Brennan, and Elijah Brennan; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Saline, Michigan, at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 21st, and in Hawley, Pennsylvania, at Teeters Funeral Chapel on Saturday, March 28th, with visiting hours from 10 to 12 followed by a memorial service at 12 noon.
