James Elmer Weaver, 75, of Zionsville passed away December 14, 2022.
Born May 31, 1947 in Troy, IN to Carl and Loretta Weaver. He attended St. Meinrad High School at an early age and he thought he might have a calling to become a priest. Although that thought changed, he did one year in the School of Theology. He was then drafted and enlisted in the US Air Force. While on leave, he met Virlee Arnold and they married on September 5, 1970 in Mariah Hill, IN and was faithful to her for 52 years.
When Jim was not working in his wood shop, gardening, beekeeping, or tending trees, he enjoyed spending time with the many friends he made throughout his CPA career and the many organizations he belonged to: Cursillo, Hospice, Toastmasters, 2 Rotary Clubs, Tillers International, St. Augustine Home for Aged, Camp Healing Tree, Beekeepers of Indiana, Indiana Nut & Fruit Growers, Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Kairos Prison Ministry and more. One of his true joys was being Santa Claus and bringing the true meaning of Christmas to all.
He had a love for riding his motorcycle, learning new things, becoming a Master Gardener and Master Woodworker, that led to him to build his dream workshop. Jim and Virlee loved hosting family and friends at their home. always opening their home to others or anyone looking for a place to stay or to even work for him around their beautiful property in Zionsville, otherwise known as Jim's outdoor playground. Jim did not wavier in his wanting to know, love and serve God. His purpose of life was in giving his time, talent and treasure. This was evident throughout his life.
Besides his beautiful wife of 52 years, he is also survived by his 3 children- daughter Chris (David) Carlyle of Indianapolis, Matt (Jessi) Weaver of Noblesville, and Scott (Laura) Weaver of Zionsville and 9 grandchildren who love their Pop-Pop so very much: Trey, Tripp, Tagg, Raya, Luke, Charlie, twins Riley and Vivian, and Jude. He is also survived my his sister Barbara Brophey, formerly of Culver City, CA and his brother Joseph Weaver of Trinidad, Colorado and several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his brother Charlie and his wife Margaret, nephews Jonathan, Michael, and Charlie Jr.
Jim was a faithful and generous man who will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
"May you be a blessing to others and an honor to God". -Jim Weaver

Jim was a man of great faith. He is the most humble man that gave to others without fanfare. I shared many faith filled cursillo moments with someone I truly called my friend. Although we lost contact when I think of a man of faith I think of him. Rest in paradise Jim

Hi to all of Jim's Family.
We were very blessed at Tillers for all the hard work and time Jim spent with us, helping to improve our organization. Jim was one of the few Tillers board members who actually made a trip to Mozambique to visit our project there. He encouraged and gave me inspiration to expand and try new classes in our woodworking program. He is missed.

Always admired this great guy. He was simply a good and solid man, a pleasure to be with. So sorry for the loss, dear family. He is with God if anyone ever deserved to be. I add his name to those good people to pray to for intercession. Jim was "connected," as all could see. God holds him close.
