James Weaver Obituary
He was born May 29, 1950, in Hartford, to Charles and Josephine (Haggarty) Weaver. Jim graduated from Northwest Catholic High School (1968) and Dartmouth College (1972). He followed in his father's footsteps, dedicating his entire career to Travelers.
Jim is survived by: his high school sweetheart and wife of more than 50 years, Marguerite Lenge Weaver; his three adored and adoring children, Greg Weaver (Kate), Carolyn Johnson (Drew) and Julie Weaver (Liam Cronin); his sister, Noreen Shawcross; countless nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved dearly; and, most of all, his five grandchildren, Van, Holly, Carly, Trevor and Seamus, who were the joy of his life and cherished beyond measure.
Jim loved giving heartfelt (often long) speeches, chatting with friends on Oak Grove Beach, attempting to improve his far from perfect golf game, playing cards with friends, skiing down the slopes of Vermont, celebrating countless UConn wins, and traveling abroad. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and special. Jim's deep voice, resounding laughter and words of wisdom will remain in our hearts forever.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 4th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Parish, 47 Pleasant St. West Hartford on Friday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Fariview Cemetery, West Hartford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to bloodcancerunited.org in support of lymphoma research.

Jim was such a great guy! We were in the same religion class at Northwest. One day I see Jim nodding off during class and after he woke up I said nice nap! He said if he could get a few winks in he felt refreshed. So whenever someone in my family wanted to take a short nap we would say I´m taking a Jimmy Weaver! May you rest in peace, Jim. I had the pleasure of taking care of James, and to get to know James is a blessing. I will never forget that low voice saying "hey Steph! How about them huskies!" Jame´s positive attitude and smile was contagious! He will be greatly missed. Heaven has definitely gained another angel. Rest in peace James. My heart goes out to the weaver family.

I will miss that deep voice and laugh. He was a great man in every facet a man can be measured. He showed gratitude for all that is great about life and handled the tough things with courage and steadfastness. He was a man to admire and I am blessed to have known him.
