It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jim Wegge, on August 24, at the age of 86.

He grew up in Janesville, Minnesota raised with his sister by his widowed mother after his father died when Jim was 3 years old.

In Janesville High School he was a star athlete in football, basketball, and baseball, as well as a good student. After graduating from Minnesota State University in Mankato, he moved to Omaha and worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Pfizer for 30 years.

In Omaha he met and married Marian Evenson. They welcomed three children into their life. When they all graduated from college, Jim and Marian moved to Fort Myers, Florida to enjoy their retirement. Twelve years later when their granddaughters were born, they moved to Tampa to be closer to family.

Jim was loyal to his Minnesota roots. He watched all the Vikings, Timberwolves, and Twins games that were on T.V. He enjoyed a glass of merlot before dinner. He was a faithful Catholic his whole life. He loved to travel, especially, Las Vegas and going on cruises. Jim also loved listening to Frank Sinatra.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Amor and Irene Wegge, all of his aunts, uncles, and many cousins, and his beloved daughter, Liza Wegge.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marian, his daughter, Megan (Jeff) Ritonya, son, Jace (Camille Richter) Wegge, granddaughters, Cassidy and Olivia Ritonya, sister, Liz Ann (Don) Heinzman and their children, and his brother-in-law, Max Evenson and his children.

Jim will be remembered for his work ethics, his generosity, his loyalty, and kindness.
