Lyndon Ray Wegge passed away from liver cancer March 18, 2023 at Viking Manor in Ulen, Minnesota under the care of hospice where he had resided for approximately two months.
Lyndon was born March 24, 1943 in rural Nielsville, Minnesota the son of Sigurd and Minnie (Rude) Wegge. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri Church. He attended grade school in Nielsville and high school in Halstad, graduating in 1961.
Lyndon ran a gas station in Nielsville in the early 60's. He served his country in the Army from 1965 to 1967. Lyndon moved to Minneapolis where he worked for his brother Donnie at Freeway Texaco, then went to work for Pentel Pontiac, and Chief's Towing with his personal tow truck, the silver streak and also as parts manager at Burnsville Volkswagen. He loved seeing customers firsthand and he went back to towing and hauling until his retirement in 2000.
He married Nola (Kjenstad) Wegge and had two sons, John Kjenstad and Chad Wegge. Lyndon moved back to the family farm in 2000 to live and care for his mother. During this time, he worked for various farmers.
Lyndon is survived by his sons, Chad Wegge, John Kjenstad (Laura) Edmondson and their sons Cash Sigurd, and Karver Edmondson all of Bloomington, MN, brothers, Sheldon Wegge, Renton WA, Rodney (Kim) Wegge, West Fargo,ND, sisters, Lavonna Coauette, Moorhead,MN, Judy (Rick) Blake, Bonita Springs, FL, Donna (Dave) Skusa, Fairbault,MN and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Donnie and Robert, and brother-in-law, Larry Coauette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Hospice of the Red River Valley, Nielsville Fire Department, American Legion Honor Guard, Sundet Cemetery.
