Dr. James Michael Wertman

It is with profound sadness that the family of Dr. James Michael Wertman-Mike to those who knew and loved him-shares the news of his passing on April 10, 2025.
Mike was a gentle and patient man who possessed a ferocious intelligence. His introspective nature and calm, loving way of being created a deep sense of ease for anyone lucky enough to spend any amount of time in his presence. Mike had a wisdom deeply rooted. Mike had so much love to give, and he gave it freely and abundantly.
Mike earned his peaceful rest, and his family is grateful that his fight has ended. We're also deeply thankful to have witnessed the strength of love that so many people felt and poured out for Mike. However, despite this depth of gratitude, we also can't help feeling that the world is a little bit dimmer without his bright light shining in it. Mike touched so many lives with the single special one he was given. There aren't many who use their gifts the way Mike dedicated his life to doing.
Mike is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Virginia and his mother-in law Sue. He is survived by his loving wife Tina; his sons Joe (Danielle), Ryan (Brandi), and Nick; his brothers Bill (Janis) and Mark (Pam); his grandchildren Cian, Raelin, Devan, Odin, and Noah; his father-in-law Bill; his sisters-in-law Terri and Traci (Joseph); his legion of adoring nephews and nieces Sarah (Peter), Jonathan (Ashley), Chelsea (Erick), Matt (Kelsey), Ryleigh (Joe), Brooks (Ciara), Joey, Ivey, Sophie (his goddaughter), and Carly; and several great nieces and nephews. Mike's family would also like to say a special thank you to the caring individuals at Arden Courts of Parma, as well as to the wonderful hospice staff who saw him through.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mike's name to a charity of your choosing. The family will hold a private celebration of life ceremony at a later date.
