Guide me, O my great Redeemer, pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but you are mighty; hold me with your powerful hand.
Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me now and evermore.
James West was born on November 5th, 1932, to Carrie Bell Daniels and Lee West in Vienna, Georgia.
James West entered the United States Air Force in 1953 shortly after graduating from Vienna High Industrial School. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and 16 days before retiring.
He then married Bessie West from this union two children, Karen and Jane West were born. James eventually moved to Ocala, Florida, where he resided for the rest of his life. He later married Annie May Coe, along with her three children.
James West accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior on May 26, 2002, and he joined the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida and served in the Men's Ministry when his health allowed.
The clock of life exchanged time for eternity for James West, he was greeted in the afternoon hours on Thursday, October 17, 2024, by the winds of Angels. James, heard the voice of Jesus say, "Come unto Me and rest; lay down, thou weary one, lay down thy head upon My breast." He left this world at the tender age of 91. To God be the Glory. He is preceded in death by both his parents, Carrie Bell Daniels and Lee West; Brothers: David West, Leroy West, and Albert Daniels and Ernest Lee West. Sisters: Lessie B. Camp and Clara M. Sermons.
He leaves to cherish his memories of two daughters Karen and Jane; stepchildren: Sylvester Clark (Jenna), John Coe, Kachina Smith (Willie); several grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, and friends.
Public Viewing will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 1:00pm until 6:00pm at Summers Funeral Home at 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475.
Celebration of Life for Mr. James Lee West will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Summers Funeral Home, 2238 NW 10th Street, Ocala, FL 34475.
