James "Tim" Westbrook, born on August 5, 1961, in Tate, Georgia, passed away peacefully in Canton, Georgia, on April 25, 2024. A skilled heavy equipment operator by trade, Tim found joy and purpose in the camaraderie and challenges of his profession. His hands never idle, he was also a passionate welder, often retreating to his shop to create and repair with meticulous care.
Tim's love for the great outdoors was evident in his fondness for the mountains, where he could be found fishing and savoring the serenity of nature. Known for his sense of humor, he cherished time spent with family and friends, reveling in laughter and storytelling. An enduring image for those who knew him is Tim behind the wheel of his truck, taking to the cross-country roads with a spirit of freedom and adventure.
A life well-lived and a heart full of love, Tim leaves behind memories that will be treasured and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Westbrook Sanford and father-in-law, Melvin Duncan. Tim is survived by his wife, Amanda Westbrook; daughter, Taylor Westbrook; sons, Ethan Westbrook, and Duncan Westbrook; honorary son, Alex Sturtz; father, James H. Westbrook; brothers, Robby Westbrook, Jeff Westbrook, Chad Westbrook and Fred Medlin; and mother-in-law, Barbara Duncan.
