James Lindon Williams, age 75, of Crosby, Texas, went to be with our Lord on June 14, 2025. He was born January 12, 1950,in Albany, Oregon to James Henry Williams and Phyllis Maxine Crosby, who both preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his Father- and Mother-in-Law, Garland and Audeen Wheeler.
Lovingly known to his family and friends as Tuffy, he was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Janet Wheeler Williams, who he met at Galena Park High School where they both graduated. They were married for 51 years and blessed with two caring and warmhearted children. Alyssa Rhea Williams and Timothy Ryan Williams brought their dad unbelievable joy and pride with their chosen careers as a teacher and as a principal. Tim married Jamie Sue Davis, and they have three precious children. Jalynn Ryan, Kennedy RaeAnn, and Cooper James, made Tuffy the best and proudest Poppa ever.
Tuffy loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. All children were extremely important to him. He served 12 years on the Sheldon I.S.D. School Board where he was admired by students and teachers alike. He loved coaching baseball, actively supporting his children and other students in Sheldon's FFA, volunteering in the community, raising foster children, and making sure he was available at a moment's notice for any parent or child. Tuffy was honored to be recognized as an Honorary Texas State Farmer through Sheldon FFA. He was a true gentleman and cowboy. Tuffy has left us all with many precious memories.
Tuffy was employed with Arco/Lyondell in Channelview for 33 dedicated years. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his life. During his career with the company, he was awarded Volunteer of the Year for two years and earned a monetary award to start a scholarship fund in his name.
Tuffy was dedicated to God and was an active member at Crosby Church of Christ. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, and compassion. We are forever grateful for the Christian example he set for everyone that knew him.
Left to carry on his legacy are his loved ones: Wife, Janet Williams; Daughter, Alyssa Williams; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Tim and Jamie Williams; Grandchildren, Jalynn, Kennedy, and Cooper Williams. Also left with sweet and entertaining memories are his Sisters-in-Law and their husbands, Dianne and Larry Armer, and Nancy and Larry Stephens, along with their numerous children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
