James A. Winkhart, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on December 29, 1948, James was a lifelong resident who graduated from Fairless High School. His impressive career spanned over 40 years with the Timken Company, where he dedicated himself to excellence and commitment.
James was known for his kind and caring nature, traits that endeared him to all who knew him. He had a remarkable ability to make those around him feel valued and loved. Above all, he absolutely adored his children and grandchildren, reveling in every moment spent with family and friends. James took great joy in playing ball along with watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He was always eager to participate in sports and embodied the spirit of camaraderie and passion that sports bring.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy, who stood by him through life's many journeys. James is also survived by his son Zachary Winkhart and daughter-in-law Chelsey, along with his daughter Wendy Thompson. His absence will be felt deeply by his beloved sister, Joan Snyder and grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Kennedy and Kaleb.
James is preceded in death by his father, Carl Winkhart; mother, Alice Winkhart; daughter, Amber Winkhart; and brothers Jack and Jerry Winkhart, along with his sister Judy Winkhart.
James A. Winkhart will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.
The visitation for James will take place on November 19, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, located at 1100 Wales Rd NE in Massillon, OH. A Celebration of Life will follow the funeral service from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. He will later be buried at St. Clement's Cemetery.
