James "Jimmy" Roger Witte, age 63 of Bristol, TN, was unexpectedly swept up into the arms of Yeshua Messiah on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Jimmy was born on July 28, 1961, in Phillipsburg, NJ to Walter and Caroline Witte. Jimmy proudly served his country in the United State Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, and as Supervisor in the United States Postal Service for 38 years. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and selfless commitment to combating human trafficking.
James worked hand-in-hand with Tomas J. Lares, Founder of United Abolitionists, to expand the organization's reach and impact. His efforts helped develop national resources, including the Florida-based human trafficking hotline and Orlando International Airport's "soft room" for victims. His influence was crucial in creating educational modules designed to train professionals in the hospitality, tourism, and transportation industries on how to spot and report human trafficking.
Jimmy was a devout husband, son, brother and friend. He and his wife, Teresa, were devoted to one another and the life they lived in unity showed forth love and the goodness of God. Their union was divinely blessed by Yahweh. Jimmy loved mountain climbing, hang gliding, motorcycling and was an avid outdoor adventurist. He truly found solace in Yahweh's creation; to Jimmy, his Faith in The Creater of all things, big and small, were precious blessings from Yahweh; and his love for His Heavenly Father was evident in all he did.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Haines Witte; parents, Walter and Caroline Witte, two brothers, Ronald Witte and wife Beth, and Mark Witte and wife Kristin; aunts / uncles, Joe and Nancy Hoell, Leon and Betty Cronce, and Eleanor Witte; and many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

The first time I met James was several years ago. He made such an impression as he was first concerned with how he could help other people. He was a happy man with a calming influence that drew others to him. We will miss the opportunity to fellowship with him again in this life. He left powerful legacy!
