James Worley Obituary
James Arthur Worley Jr. (Jim) passed away, age 87, April 10, 2025, at 2:16am, at NCH Hospital in Naples, Florida with his family by his side after a long illness of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
He was born in Sylva, NC on February 7, 1938, to Arthur Worley and Ruby Dugan. In 1961, he married Linda Shewmaker in Louisville, KY. Jim attended NC State, served in the United States Army, and had a fulfilling career with General Motors (Chevrolet Division) in Ohio and Michigan. In the early 1980s he relocated to Cherokee, NC where he began a restaurant business. He later retired and enjoyed fishing while he and Linda spent time in NC and FL.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 63 years, daughters Kristel (Lee) and Melinda (Jay), grandchildren Morgan (Justin), Megan, and Carter as well as great grandchildren Connor and Salem.
