James "Jimmy" Wright, born on July 8, 1940, in Portland, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on November 30, 2024, in Gallatin, Tennessee. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, leaves behind a legacy filled with love, laughter, and family pride.
Jimmy devoted 27 years of his hardworking life with Peterbilt, and later with NAPA Auto Parts in Gallatin. He was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to lighten the mood of those around him, always full of jokes and lightheartedness. His personality resonated not just in his workplace, but in his personal life, making him a beloved figure to all who knew him.
He graduated from Portland High School in 1959. Jimmy possessed a passion for music, particularly playing the drums, where he performed with the McCormick Brothers and later at the VFW in Gallatin and the surrounding areas. His love for music was only surpassed by his love for his family, which he considered his most significant achievement in life.
Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Patricia Faye Ligon Wright; his sons Duke Wright (Angie) and Shane Wright (Brandi); grandchildren, Corey Barnes (Tonya), Bridget Withers (Chris), Eric Wright, Adam Wright, Felicia Stafford (Dustin), Kelsey Easley (Nate), and Coby Wright. He also cherished his fifteen great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
He is additionally survived by brothers, Troy Tomlinson (Sylvia), Tim Tomlinson (Vanessa), and niece Tammy Collins.
Jimmy was preceded in death by father, James W. Wright; mother, Ella Tomlinson; step-father, Vernon Tomlinson; brother, Bobby Wright; sister, Mary Watson; and nephew, Randy Wright.
Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 202 East Main St in Gallatin, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at the same location beginning at 2:00 PM.
