James Wright Obituary
James Larry Wright, 74, of Port St. Joe passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 in Jackson Hospital, Marianna, Fl. Larry was a native of Jackson County and a graduate of Cottondale High School. Following graduation, he joined the Army, serving 5 years and then joined the Navy and served 8 years. In April 1983 Larry graduated from Florida Department of Highway Safety as a Florida State Trooper and served 27 years. In his free time, he loved fishing and playing golf.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elouise Wright and brothers, Russell and Gerald.
He is survived by his daughter and husband Lacy and Louis Gombkoto of Port St. Joe; sister, Myra Hill(Wayne) Marianna; nephew Chip Wright, Lugoff, SC and niece Terri Hill, Marianna.
He will be missed.
No services are planned. Memorialization will be by cremation.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
