Jim Young, age 64, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, passed away on August 11th, 2025, at the family cabin.

Jim was born on December 6th, 1960, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Roger Alan Young, II (Father) (Wife, Epha Jane Young) and Jeanne Marie Young (Mother).

Jim grew up in the St. Paul area and went on to work for the Burington Railroad in Alliance, Nebraska at the age of 17. He returned home to Minnesota where he assisted in the development of Guy Metals where he established life-long lasting relationships within the Stainless-Steel Industry, showing up on the doorstep and calling on anyone. Opportunity in Wisconsin transpired to Jim moving his family to Marshfield, Wisconsin where his Wife Phyllis, Brother Bill, and countless others along the journey assisted in building Basic Stainless & Patriot Metals. Through many incredible journeys, Jim's love and passion shifted towards helping cancer patients and supporting families through their journeys.

One of Jim's favorites quotes by Augustus McCrae was, "It ain't dying I'm talking about, its living", and there was no shortage of living on Jim's behalf. He was known to live life to the fullest through travel, adventures, detours, and mischief. He enjoyed business, golf, fishing, hunting, or meeting a random person on the street; of which a story that comes to mind and a smile brought to the face. Jim will forever be remembered for his stories, laughter, and love.

He is survived by his loving Wife Phyllis Young of 37 years; Children, Morgan Tainter (Husband, Shay Tainter) and James Michael Young Jr.; Grandchild, Scotty Lynn Tainter; Friends and family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Rembs Celebration Center located at 250. S. Oak Ave., in Marshfield, Wisconsin, on September 5th, 2025, from 1:00PM-4:00PM. A continued celebration of life will be held at Nutz Deep located at 809 S. Central Ave., Marshfield, Wisconsin, from 4:30PM-6:30PM. The burial will be held in the spring of 2026 in Biddle, Montana.

I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I met Jim in 2008 and had a number business dealings with him over the years but my most cherished memories of Jim will be a bowhunt he and I shared in South Dakota in 2013 and also how he selflessly supported my sister and my brother-in-law during their battles with cancer. Always quick with a smile and perhaps the most engaging story-teller I've ever met, Jim's memory will always bring me a smile. My deepest sympathies to Phyllis and the rest of Jim's family.
