Jameson Hand

McManus Jameson Hand passed away at his Northglenn, Colorado home accidentally on July 14, 2024, at the age of 31. The son of Manus and Angela (McDaniel) Hand, Jameson was born in Denver on April 1st, 1993, the beloved brother to an elder sister, and was baptized into the faith of his fathers in Laramie, Wyoming.
He was raised in Parker, where he attended Chaparral High School, graduating in 2011. In 2015, Jameson received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Colorado State University, after which he spent his career as a skilled graphic and video artist for three lucky companies, and for himself as an independent contractor.
Jameson was talented in a great many fields, and these talents are preserved in many forms, including his having provided all art for a card and board game that he helped develop which was only recently taken to market. He enjoyed music and concerts, and could hit a golf ball much further and much straighter than his father. Jameson was very close to his nephew Liam, and the countless hours that they spent together were filled with laughter and joy. His interests were wide-ranging, from politics to electronics, from gaming to history.
His family and friends hold Jameson in their heart forever, with the innumerable happy memories that he left them, from childhood songs (like "The Kong Kong Song" and "I'm the Only Jameson") to teenage fun and games (he and his sister secretly clipping things to their Grandmother's hair while on a car trip to Yellowstone, and his riding the rapids of the Snake River rafting) to adult discussions about so many disparate things. He enjoyed his time with family, and he brought a smile to every face that he saw. Jameson looked forward to a bright future, but instead now rests in the arms of God, called from his suffering into Paradise by the Holy Spirit that he often spoke lovingly about.
Jameson ("Jaige" to his family, or "J.J.", "Mickey-Jim", and even "Jigdy") is survived by his parents, of Parker; his sister Kayla (Mrs. Jordan) Kelley and two nephews Liam Bennett and Ripley Kelley, all of Elizabeth, Colorado; his paternal grandmother Sharon Hand ("Grandmother") of Laramie; Wyoming; his maternal grandparents Robert ("PaPa") and June ("Grandma") McDaniel of Woodbridge, Virginia; and by over a dozen devoted aunts and uncles, and more than three dozen loving cousins. He was preceded in death by one paternal great-grandmother of his acquaintance (Ann Ryan Walters, who he called "G.G."), by two maternal great-grandparents (J.P. McDaniel, his "Great-Granddaddy", and Dorthy Clark, his "Great-Grandma"), by his paternal grandfather James Hand ("Himself"), and by his Godmother and aunt Laura Hand Donahue.
Funeral Mass, with an honor guard provided by multiple assemblies of the Knights of Columbus, will be held on Saturday, August 31, at Ave Maria Catholic Parish (9056 E Parker Rd, Parker, Colorado), where Jameson celebrated and worshiped. Mourners are asked to gather in the sanctuary at 12:30 PM for a rosary recital led by the Ave Maria Council of the Knights of Columbus, with the solemn Mass of Christian Burial beginning thereafter. Following Mass, a reception will be held at the church, where memories of Jameson can be shared.
Interment will be at an undetermined later date, at Green Hill Cemetery in Laramie, Wyoming, where Jameson's remains will share consecrated ground with those of his father's father. Please check back for the date and time of the Laramie ceremony.
All who remember him are invited to join the Jameson Hand Memorial Rosary Recital, which is held one evening each week over zoom. Our Jameson was awesome. To know him was to love him, and words cannot express the pain caused by his loss, nor how terribly his absence will be felt in every moment. He was loved so very deeply, and so very deeply did he love.
