Jamie Crawford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs on Dec. 21, 2025.
Jamie L. Crawford of Excelsior Springs, passed away December 15, 2025.
She was born February 8, 1964 to Hazel and Lee Roy Thompson. She was their sixth and final daughter. She graduated from Excelsior Springs High School in 1982 and soon after married Raymond Craword in 1983. In 1987, they had their first child, Kyle Ray, and five years later they had their second, Cody James. Their children were the foundation they built the rest of their lives upon, and they cultivated life of love, laughter and integrity. She raised her sons with a lifetime of examples of the importance of being honest, compassionate, hard working and having a strong sense of morality. She loved being a mom, and loved being a grandma even more. It was a role she was born for. She loved her grandchildren "to the moon and back". If she could, she would have spent every waking moment with them.
She leaves behind a legacy of being the hardest worker in any room, and never taking an ounce of bull off anyone. She was a hard head with a soft heart. Many a family member, co-worker and friend can attest you couldn't have anyone better on your side. She lived a life of service for her loved ones. If you needed her, she'd be there without question.
She was known for so much: her big smile, a hearty laugh, that twinkle in her eye, her honesty, her humor, her strength, her generosity, her orneriness, her love of food, her love of fun and her lust for life.
She was a factory girl, she was a union worker, she was a devoted wife, she was the wild child of a daughter, she was the runt little sister who found her place in a big family, she was "THE" grandma, and she was a loyal friend.
She is survived by her son Kyle Crawford (Cecilia) and grandson Lino Crawford. Her son Cody Crawford (Karissa), a granddaughter Natalie Crawford, grandsons Maddox Crawford and Diesel Hoffman. Her sisters Linda Dunkle, Christa Walker, Valerie King, Alison (Tony) Woods, and Shelia Thompson. Her brother brother-in-law Wes (Brenda) Crawford. As well as so many dear friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her mother Hazel, her father Lee Roy, her mother in law Nancy Cooper, her husband Raymond and many more.
She lived a big life with even bigger dreams. She loved life and squeezed it for all it was worth. We'll miss you forever. We love you mom.
She will be honored in a private burial for friends and family; there will be no public service.
