Jammye Ann Scott, a cherished educator, devout Christian, and beloved family matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, in Edmond, OK, at the age of 77. Born on August 25, 1947, in Oklahoma City, OK, Jammye's life was characterized by her unwavering faith, her commitment to her family, and her passion for education and community involvement.
Jammye devoted her life to the noble profession of teaching, inspiring countless students with her knowledge and compassion. She believed in the power of education to transform lives and dedicated her career to nurturing the potential within each of her students. Her colleagues respected her for her dedication and her students adored her for her ability to make learning a joyful adventure.
A woman of deep faith, Jammye was a cornerstone of her Christian community. She found great solace and strength in her relationship with God and was a constant presence in her church. Her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life, especially in the way she studied her Bible, lived out its teachings, and offered love and support to those around her.
Jammye's love for sports was infectious, particularly when it came to the Oklahoma Sooners. Whether it was football, softball, or basketball, she was a fervent supporter and could often be found cheering on her team with the same enthusiasm and spirit she brought to every other part of her life. Her passion for sports was paralleled by her keen interest in politics, where she enjoyed engaging in thoughtful discussions and advocating for the values she held dear.
Above all, Jammye's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving children: Leonard Scott, IV, and his wife Mary, along with their children Lenny, Will, Ariel, and Sarah; Stefne Miller, her husband Shaun, and their children Jacob, Caleb, and Yohannes; and Rob Scott, who is the father of Berlin and Saxon. Her sister, Jana, also survives her, along with many extended family members and friends who were all touched by her generous spirit and loving heart.
Jammye's legacy is one of love, faith, and education. Her memory will be treasured and her light will continue to shine through the lives of those she has influenced. She lived a life full of purpose and left this world better than she found it. Her spirit, teachings, and love will continue to guide her family and all who knew her for many years to come. As we bid farewell to Jammye, we celebrate her remarkable life and the countless ways she enriched our world.
