Jan M Ritchie

Jan M. Ritchie, 70, of Rushville passed away peacefully Monday, January 27, 2025 at The Pickering House surrounded by her family. She was born on April 9, 1954 to the late William and Nora Jane Rutherford. Jan was a graduate of Fairfield Union High School class of 1972 and The Ohio State School of Cosmetology. Jan spent her career of over 30 years as a beautician working in multiple nursing homes and in her own shop. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, canning, and gardening. Her joys in life were family, friends, and many traveling adventures with her husband. Jan was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew and loved her. Jan is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Robert Ritchie; sons, Matt (Laura) Springer and Jared (Angel) Springer; daughter, Amanda (Ernie) King; grandchildren, Tim (Alaina), Lauren, Joseph, Cooper, Greyson, Kaden, Veronica, Christopher; and great-grandson, Martin; siblings, Michael (Vicki) Rutherford and Joseph Rutherford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Robert and Dorothy Ritchie and Donna Rutherford. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all who knew, loved, and supported her. Her family would also like to extend their appreciation for the exceptional care provided by the medical staff of Fairhope Hospice and a special thank you to her personal caregiver, Thomasina Kellner. A time to visit with Jan's family will be Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2 – 5 PM at Morgan Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
