Jana Mae Swihart

Jana Mae Swihart, age 75 passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Hurley Medical Center in Flint. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 501 N. Saginaw St., Durand, MI 48429. Pastor Tom Rundel will be officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Jana was born on September 10, 1950, to Pauline (Johnson) and Richard A. Swihart inn Owosso, MI. Jana grew up in the Bancroft and Durand area, with several aunts, uncles and cousins of the Johnson and Swihart families. She graduated from Durand High School in 1968 and attended college at Western Michigan. Jana moved to Florida in the early 70's. She was trained as a certified massage therapist. Along the way, she made many friends. Some included her clients, that traveled to Florida during the winter months. Jana called them her "snowbirds". In 2017, Jana moved back to Michigan and resided in the Durand and Owosso area for the past 8 years.
Jana is survived by her brother, Rick (Trudy) Swihart; niece, Hilary Swihart; nephews, Todd Swihart, Mark (Emily) Orsburn and Sean (Laura) O'Reilly. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Warren Brinker.
