It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Janak Ramanlal Vashee (ex-Luanshya Zambia), who left us peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, at the age of 69.
Born on May 2, 1956, Janak was the beloved son of late Chanubhai and Ramilaben Vashee. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he lived a life grounded in meaningful connections that spanned across years and continents, from India, Zambia, Canada, the UK, and the USA.
Janak is survived by his loving wife Pravina Vashee, his cherished daughter Hita Vashee, and son-in-law Nirav Desai. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Om Vashee Desai, who brought immense joy into his life. He is also survived by his brother Kirti Vashee and sister-in-law Hina Vashee; sister and brother-in-law Nila and Paresh Naik; and sister and brother-in-law Bhavna and Kalpesh Desai. Janak will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family and friends whose lives he touched deeply.
Janak was a self-employed businessman for over 25 years, recently retiring in August 2024. He was known for his strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication towards providing for his family. Beyond his professional life, Janak was a true people person who found joy in conversation, connection, community and had a unique gift for forming lasting relationships.
His presence was a source of strength and guidance, and his legacy will live on through the lives he's connected over the years.
