Jane Stephens Adams, 91 of Flemingsburg, Kentucky passed away peacefully Saturday, August 9, 2025 at her home in Flemingsburg. Born November 3, 1933 in May’s Lick, Kentucky she was the daughter of Cliff and Leona Gudgell Stephens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ray Adams whom she married on January 21, 1957. They were married 57 years until his passing on July 16, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Kathryn Adams.

Jane was well-known for her dedication and contributions to her family and community. While she assisted her husband in their business, she became especially known for her role in driving the bookmobile. Her engaging personality and warm spirit helped make the bookmobile a beloved resource in the areas she served.

Jane found immense joy in her family, particularly her grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to attend their events with unwavering support and pride.

As a longtime member of the Flemingsburg Christian Church, Jane was elevated to the position of Deacon Emeritus in recognition of dedication and spiritual commitment. She had a zest for life that was contagious. Her interests were wide-ranging; from being a UK basketball fan to two-step dancing, she also enjoyed traveling and was an active participant in her Pot Luck Group. A proud member of the Homemakers and Garden Club, she also found enjoyment in attending estate auctions and yard sales.

Jane was more than just a loving Mom and Memaw; she was a friend to many and a bright light in our community. She was fortunate to have devoted caregivers, Glenda Potts and Betty Reid, who provided her with compassion and care in her final days.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lynn Adams Vice and her husband Danny and her son, Stevie Adams and his wife Cathy all of Flemingsburg. She shared a special bond with her cousin Nancy Morgan Colgan of Flemingsburg, who was more like a sister. Her cherished grandchildren: Bryan Stephen (Christy) Manning, Adam Blake (Kristen) Manning, Gary Brooks (Nikki) Manning, Case Clark Adams and Hallie Raylynn Adams. Her great-grandchildren: Carter Stephen (Morgan) Manning, Kenley Hart Manning, Brentley Ray Manning, Brenlynn Pearl Manning and Ellie Jane Manning. One great-great grandson, Boyd Stephen Manning. Also, a grandchild expected to be here in February.

In keeping with Jane’s request, graveside services and burial will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel, Kentucky with Pastor Marty Voiers and Pastor Randy Fritz officiating. There will be no visitation.

Pall bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Bryan, Blake, Brooks, Case, Hallie, Carter, Kenley and Brentley. Honorary pall bearers will be great grandchildren: Brenlynn, Ellie and Great-great grandson, Boyd.
