Jane L. Bumgardner

Jane L. (Whitelaw) Bumgardner, 85 of Lewistown, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at her home. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Bumgarner before his passing in 2002.
Born on August 29, 1937 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Ruth M. (Sechler) Whitelaw. Jane worked at Cluett, Peabody Arrow Shirt Factory before becoming a hairdresser, eventually owning and operating Jane Bumgardner's Haircut and Care in Bellefonte. During her free time, she enjoyed dancing and being with her family. Jane was a member at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. She was also a member of Lewistown Moose, Lewistown Elks Lodge #663, Red Hat Club, Women's Auxillary, and Navy Wives in Florida.
Jane is survived by her children, Terry Bumgardner and wife, Beverly of Rebersburg, Timothy Bumgardner of Lewistown, and Dona Woodring and husband, Charles of Lewistown; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Jane is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Bumgardner; grandson, Tyler Kelly; and brother, Jack Whitelaw.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main Street, Lewistown. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Harwood officiating. Burial will follow at Church Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
