Jane Burbank Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Home - Beverly on Mar. 6, 2026.
Danvers, MA - E. Jane (Phillips) Burbank, 89, of Danvers, formerly of Manchester-by-the-Sea, passed away March 3, 2026 at Benchmark Senior Living at Putnam Farm after a long illness. Daughter of the late Edgar and Ellen Jane (Andrews) Phillips, and widow to the late Raymond Burbank Jr., Jane was born in Beverly and raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea. She graduated from Story High School in 1955.

Jane devoted her life to her family, raising her four daughters on her own after the passing of her husband, Raymond. She was a devoted mother whose strength, love, and determination shaped the lives of her family in countless ways.

Jane worked at Manchester Elementary School so she could be home for school vacations, summers, and afternoons when her girls returned from school. She also drove a school bus for daily routes and for many school events. Jane quickly became a favorite among the students she drove. Her kindness, warm smile, and sense of humor made a lasting impression, and she meant so much to so many of those children.

When her daughters were older, Jane went to work at Axcelis Technologies, where she remained until her retirement. She built many friendships there and was known for her strong work ethic and positive spirit.

Jane's greatest joy in life was her family. When her grandchildren arrived, she could not have been more proud of each and every one of them. Weekends were often spent gathered at Nana's house, where family and friends were always welcome. Her home on Crafts Court became the place everyone loved to be. The door was always open, the house was always full of laughter, and Nana made sure everyone felt loved.

A few years ago, Jane moved to Putnam Farm Assisted Living in Danvers. True to her nature, it did not take long for her to make new friends. She enjoyed the many activities there, especially playing quarters, bingo, and cards. Jane was always up for a good game-and she loved to win.

Jane will be remembered for her generosity, her sense of humor, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. She created a home where everyone felt welcome, and her kindness touched many lives. Her legacy lives on through her daughters, grandchildren, and all those who were lucky enough to know and love her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Jane is survived by: Her daughter Kelly Jones of Beverly; her daughter Tracy Martyn of South Hamilton, MA; her daughter Jodi Woodman and her husband Kyle of Florida; honorary daughter Judy Colarusso and her husband Steve; her 8 grandchildren, Lindsey and Paul Martyn, Casey and Haley Pyburn, Michael and Cory Mccollum, and Matthew and Bex Jones; and her great-grandchild Tyler Duran. She was predeceased by her daughter, Robin Pyburn.

Her graveside funeral service will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 128 Pine St, Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A celebration life will follow at the Manchester Masonic Lodge, 10 Church St, Manchester-by-the-Sea from 12PM to 2PM. Contributions may be made in Jane's memory to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane Gloucester. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly.
