Jane Marie Durham

Jane Marie McHam Durham, age 99, passed away peacefully on October 2,2024, in the Woodlands, Texas. Jane graduated from Wichita Falls High School; attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, and worked for Shell Oil in Wichita Falls, where she met and married Miles M Durham, a petroleum engineer. It was a match that ended just shy of 50 years later, upon Miles' death in 1997. Jane and Miles resided in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado in the United States, and New Brunswick and Alberta in Canada over the course of their marriage. Twenty-two years were spent in Calgary where they raised three children. Jane had a passion for visual art and studied painting and sculpture at the Alberta College of Art. She volunteered as a docent at the Glenbow Museum for many years and helped curate the art collection at Shell Canada Headquarters in Calgary in the early 1980s. Upon retirement, Jane and Miles settled on Lake Sam Rayburn, Texas, where they enjoyed golfing and lake activities. Jane was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Jane is survived by her children, Peggy (Bob Thompson), Doug ( Barbara) and Lynn (Laurence Torsher); three grandchildren, Miles, Kelli (Mike Oster), Evelyn, and one great-grandchild, Levi. Jane's life will be celebrated at a private family memorial service.
