Jane "Betty" E. Falls, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, in Clearwater, Florida. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Betty's vibrant spirit and loving nature touched many throughout her life. Her journey of 95 years began in the heart of Boston, where she set out to make the world a brighter place for everyone she met.
Raised in West Roxbury and a proud graduate of Dorchester High School, Betty was known for her intelligence and wit from a young age. After completing her education, she embarked on a fulfilling career as an administrative assistant, contributing her skills to Bell South and Nynex for many years. Her dedication and professionalism were matched only by her kindness and willingness to help others.
Betty's life was a testament to her strength and her capacity to love. As a mother, she raised her sons, Robert of Manhattan, John of Port Angeles, James of Tampa, and Michael of Forest Hill, with unwavering love and guidance. She faced the pain of losing two of her beloved children, Barry and Jayne, and her sister, Barbara Columbo, with grace and resilience. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Mary, Alexa, Aubrey, Athena, Tara and Eden, who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Florida had been Betty's home for over three decades, where she became an integral part of her community. Her involvement with the VFW and the Elks in Dunedin showcased her commitment to service and fellowship. She was a beacon of light, bringing people together and enriching the lives of those around her.
An avid singer and a talented piano player, Betty shared her passion for music by teaching others. Her melodious voice and the music she created were sources of joy and inspiration. She loved performing at special events and local establishments on a regular basis. Betty's interest in astrology reflected her curiosity about the world and the universe, a hobby she pursued with the same fervor as her professional interests.
Traveling was another of Betty's joys, and she seized every opportunity to explore new places and cultures. Her adventurous spirit and stories of her travels captivated all who listened, and she often returned with new friends and cherished memories.
Jane "Betty" E. Falls lived a life full of love, music, and adventure. Her warmth, generosity, and the melodies she shared will resonate with her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever be a guiding light for those she has left behind. As we bid farewell to Jane, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her legacy of love, laughter, and music will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
