Jane Emerson Farrell, 77, passed away after a short illness on August 8th, 2025. She is survived by John her loving husband of fifty-four years, as well as her son, Mark Farrell (Megan), and daughters Beth Crook (Kevin) and Christine Walsh (David). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Charlotte Crook, Emerson Crook, Evelyn Crook, Julia Walsh, and James Walsh. Additionally, Jane is also survived by family she loved as sisters Margaret Anne Moran and Rena Hannaford, as well as many other family and friends.
Jane grew up in Winchester, MA. She was graduated from the Boston College School of Nursing and, after marrying John she moved to Maryland, and enjoyed an almost fifty-year career in Montgomery County as a community, hospital, and school nurse. While she always felt the pull of New England and its mountains and seashores, she made a wonderful life in Maryland. She was a bright light to the many friends she touched; warm, helpful, thoughtful, concerned about the comfort and wellbeing of others, always smiling and cheerful. She was also a great hostess who enjoyed throwing parties and being with family and friends. She and John were fortunate to spend many happy years together, enjoying each other as they spent time outdoors and traveling. She was a woman who lived her faith in a quiet fashion as was evidenced by the good acts done to and for others.
