Jane A. Fogt

Jane Anderson Fogt, 82, of West Des Moines, IA, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, in Scottsdale, AZ. Jane was born June 2, 1942, in Detroit, MI, the younger of 2 children born to Andrew and Dorothy (Howard) Anderson.
Jane graduated from Drake University with a degree in education. She met her husband, James B. Fogt, at Drake, and they celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2024. She built a life with her husband and raised her two daughters in the Des Moines area. Jane enjoyed many summer weekends in Clear Lake, IA, with her family and friends for 40+ years. She also enjoyed the mild winter months in Surprise, AZ, close to her oldest daughter.
Jane was a member of PEO, Junior League, an Investment Club, and Chi Omega sorority. Jane was a social worker, travel agent and owned a monogramming business that she ran out of her home. She loved to play tennis, knit, read, volunteer her time to many organizations, and play cards, especially bridge and solitaire where she usually ruled the table.
Jane's greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband, James; two children, Whitney (Rick) Crutchley of Scottsdale, AZ, Courtney (Jeff) Welch of Overland Park, KS; and four grandchildren to which she was 'Grammy', Morgan, Andrew, Miles and Bella. Also surviving is Jane's brother John (Marty) Anderson.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Dorothy (Howard) Anderson.
Jane spread joy, happiness and kindness wherever she went - she was fun and silly, and all those who knew her, loved her. She treasured her fountain sodas, her sweet treats, tap dancing lessons, ½ glass of Natural Light beer on ice, dancing in the kitchen, and daily trips to Target. Her spirit and light will be missed.
It is undecided at this time how and when the family wishes to say their farewells to their beloved wife, mother and Grammy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Alzheimer's Association.
