It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Nell Fontenot Ardoin, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend on Thursday, July 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 87. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Pine Prairie, LA on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 9:30 am, Father Casey Dugas will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Throughout her life, Jane was known for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. She worked tirelessly as a housekeeper at Prairie Manor Nursing Home for 26 years before retiring at the remarkable age of 75.
Jane and her beloved husband, James D. Ardoin, shared 61 wonderful years together before his passing. Together, they embodied the spirit of love and unity, standing hand in hand as they led the Christmas Parade as Grand Marshal. Her family was her pride and joy, and she delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with love and care.
Among Jane's favorite pastimes were playing Bingo, traveling, and spending quality moments with her loved ones. She had a special love for Cajun Music, and her knack for finding delight in the simple pleasures of life brought light to those around her. She was particularly fond of the color blue, and roses, often reflecting her lively spirit and passion for life.
Jane will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. She found solace in her Catholic faith and found peace in prayer.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Guillory (Sheriff, Charles R. Guillory), Teddy W. Ardoin (Bernice), Christopher Ardoin (Misty); her sister, Barbara Marcantel; her grandchildren, Hollie Guillory (Ben), Whitney Guillory (Adam), Tib Guillory (Paige), Levi Guillory (Olivia), Brody Ardoin (Natalie), Tyler Ardoin (Chelsea), Mindy, Zack and Alex Soileau; 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Ardoin; her parents, Oban and Zoe’ Fontenot.
At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Pine Prairie, LA on Friday, July 12, 2024, beginning at 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Friday afternoon. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 8:00 am until the time of service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brody Ardoin, Tyler Ardoin, Tib Guillory, Levi Guillory, Rhett Guillory and Jackson Guillory. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Soileau, Zack Soileau and Roman Deshotel.
