Obituary
Jane H. Janowitz, 98, a former Sylvania, OH, resident passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in Brecksville, OH. Jane was born October 28, 1924, in Greenfield, MA, to parents Henry and Helen (Dorazewski) Zabohonski. She is survived by her daughters, Madeline Rothman and Diane (Guy) Cornett; sons, Alexander and Joseph Janowitz; grandchildren, Dean, Aaron (Jacqueline), Cameron and Ryan (Michelle) Ondrey; greatgrandchildren, William, Margaret, Elizabeth, and Avery Ondrey. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Nicholas Janowitz; sister, Mary and her spouse, Robert Gay; and son-in-law, Ronald Rothman.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania, Tuesday, October 10th from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins at 11:00 a.m. Jane will be laid to rest beside Nicholas at Resurrection Cemetery following Mass.
Jane will be missed by so many. She was fierce in her love for her family, her faith, and cats. She enjoyed sewing clothes, biking, camping, reading, and cooking. Her Sunday cinnamon rolls, homemade pizzas, and cookies were amazing, along with her collections of cookbooks and recipes. The TV was always on the Food Channel, and she never missed a Lawrence Welk, Father Brown or the Doc Martin Show. Jane always had a kind word for everyone and everything except maybe spiders. A true sweetheart of a lady. I enjoyed the time Jane got to spend at Chippewa Place, any little extras the staff did for her, Jane was SO grateful and excited- when you can genuinely tell someone is making someone else happy... it's like an energy boost of confirmation that kindness is the simplest answer to any bad mood, bad day, or bad situation. Jane always made me feel happier when I saw her or spoke to her. I cannot say enough about Janes kids as well, even Jane's son-inlaw. You kids kept mom safe, happy, and overall LOVED. Bless all family and friends- the Janowitz family will forever be a part of our Chippewa Place family.
