Lt. Col. Jane Kidd (Ret.) – age 85 of Knoxville, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at Mercy Residential Hospice. Jane was a retired Air Force nurse who travelled the world during her career. She was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Preceded in death by parents, Stella and Luther Kidd; brother and sister-in-law, Red and Lib Kidd; brother-in-law, Jack Schmidt; niece Ann Gates. Survivors include sister, Pat Schmidt; nieces, Becky Dodson (Jim), Renee O’Connor (Bob), Jennifer Cox (Bob), Patty Wright (Grad), Mollie Krueger (Jim), and Sue Grindrod (Jeff); nephew, Tom Schmidt (Amy); great-nephews, Ian (Lani), Logan, and Austin O’Connor; Grady and Eli Wright, Eli Cox, Grady and Danny Schmidt; great-nieces, Laura Dodson, Libby Wright, Caroline and Kayla Kruger, Megan Chute (Brad), and Lexi Grindrod; great-nephew, Will Chute; and her friends and adopted family at Parkview Senior Apartments. The funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Monday, April, 25, 2011, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church with Father Chris Michelson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Monday at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Josephs Grammar School or St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel in charge of arrangements.
