Jane Kweder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremations Services, Inc. - Wesleyville from Feb. 28 to Mar. 1, 2022.
Jane Bernice Jaskulsky Kweder

On Friday, February 25, 2022, Jane Bernice Jaskulsky Kweder left us to join her husband, Joe, and their many friends at the front table by the polka band. Born on January 22, 1928, Jane was the youngest of four girls born to John and Sofia Jaskulsky, with two brothers coming after.

Jane graduated from East High School in 1945. While working in the kitchen at the family business, Lakeview Tavern, she met Joe Kweder, the man who changed her world. They married November 5, 1946. Raising four children, Jane worked as a cashier at Sears Roebuck. Moving to the Payroll Department at Zurn, she worked up the ranks at Zurn, finishing her career as Payroll Supervisor. Jane and Joe celebrated 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2006. Since then, she has enjoyed showing off her mad card-playing skills, while taking many nickels from her unsuspecting opponents. Jane also enjoyed bowling at Eastway Lanes with the girls. She had a soft spot for dogs, sneakily feeding whichever was sitting at her feet. Jane was extremely proud of her flower gardens, spending hours on hands and knees, freeing the earth of those pesky weeds. Prospect Avenue will never be as colorful again.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Jaskulsky; and three sisters, Rose Shriner, Theresa Whipple, and Frances Pregler. She is survived by one daughter, Rosan Radack (friend, Terry); two sons, William (Claudia) of Cedar Creek, TX, and Joe of Erie; one brother, George (Lois) of Hollywood, FL; four grandchildren, Greg Witherow (Jessie) of Erie, CO, Lynn Kielbasa (Michael) of Hamilton, Ontario, Zachary Kweder (Kristin) and William Kweder (Dana) of Austin, TX; numerous great-grandchildren, and JoJo the Parakeet.

Jane's family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers and special thanks to Debi for her care at the end and those at UPMC who cared for Jane, especially Eva Williams and Amy Pettis.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd, on Tuesday from 10:30 am until the time of the Prayer Service there at 12:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. James R.C. Church at 1 pm with entombment at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James R.C. Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, Erie, PA 16510, the Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506, or an animal care charity of one's choice.
