Jane Lyter

Jane Lyter, 95, of Bellefonte, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Haven Place Rehabilitation and Senion Living in Lock Haven. Born on March 18, 1930, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Philip F. and Margaret V. (Breon) Hoover. She was married to her beloved husband, Larry E. Lyter, who preceded her in death on November 13, 2016.

Jane was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. She worked as an operator for Hanover for over 25 years until her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Jeanette Dreibelbis and Lee Lyter, both of Milesburg; five grandchildren, Alan Lyter, David Dreibelbis, Jeffrey Dreibelbis, Justin Dreibelbis, and Dustin Lyter, and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Samuel E. Lyter, one brother and one sister.

Jane enjoyed cooking and baking, hosting countless dinners for her family and friends throughout the years. More than anything, she treasured spending time with her family.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with Pastor Doug Conway officiating. Burial services will immediately follow at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
