Jane Avon Maibauer, age 79, of Rochester, passed away peacefully at her home on September 11, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on August 7, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Mary McColl, Jane lived a life marked by compassion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and fabulous and fun friend.

Jane is survived by her husband and love of her life, Dr. Frederick Paul Maibauer, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with joy and adventure. She was a devoted and proud mother to Margaret (Joe) Thell, Ann (Chad) Giebel, and Catherine (Matt) Campbell, and loving grandmother to Joe, Tony, Charlie, Ricky, Katie, and Delaney-each of whom brought her boundless pride and joy.

Jane was known for her warmth, quirky humor, and love of traveling and chocolate.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary; aunt, Margaret Yuill; and in-laws, Frederick and Florence Maibauer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17, from 3-7 PM at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut Boulevard, Rochester, MI. Funeral services at 11AM on Friday, September 19, at St. Philips Episcopal Church, 100 Romeo Street, Rochester, Michigan. Private burial at Van Hoosen Jones Stoney Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane's memory to St Philips Episcopal Church, 100 Romeo St, Rochester, Michigan 48307.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
