Jane Frances (Boedeker) Marshall was born October 1, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Clarence and Dorothy (Wilhelm) Boedeker. She grew up in Florissant, Missouri and graduated with the class of 1966 from St. Thomas Aquinas Mercy High School.
On February 12, 1971, Jane was united in marriage to the love of her life and best friend, Robert Ward Marshall. They shared fifty-two years of lasting marriage and memories together. Jane and Robert were blessed with two wonderful children: Dorrie and David.
Throughout her working career, Jane worked various customer service jobs. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service, or as she would call it, the Department of Aggraculture, after many years of dedication.
Jane was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She truly cherished spending time with her family, including her siblings. Spending time and making memories with her four precious grandchildren brought her great joy.
In her spare time, Jane enjoyed gardening, tending to her irises, picking blackberries, and watching the cardinals in her yard. She was a talented cake decorator and for several years ran her small side business, Jane's Decorated Cakes.
The most important thing Jane held close to her heart was her Catholic Faith and being a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salem, Missouri. Jane previously attended Our Lady of Fatima Church in Florissant, Missouri until she relocated to Salem in 1976.
Jane entered into eternal rest December 20, 2023, at the age of seventy-three years, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Sligo, Missouri. Those left behind to treasure her memory include her loving husband: Bob Marshall of Sligo, MO; children: Dorrie Meyer of St. Louis, MO and David Marshall and wife Stephanie of Pleasant Hill, MO; grandchildren: Blake, Steel, Colt, and Scout; siblings: Judy Ambrose and husband Anthony, Joan Baker and husband David, Claire Boedeker and Jeff; and Tom Boedeker; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Preceding her in death, parents: Clarence and Dorothy Boedeker.
To know Jane was to love Jane. She was kind, genuine, thoughtful, and had a heart of gold. She was always thinking about others first and even strangers benefited from her thoughtfulness. Her huge heart and smiling face will be forever missed by those who loved her most.
Funeral Mass for Jane Frances (Boedeker) Marshall was held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Jose Antoney Thundathil officiating. Burial was in the Sligo Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
