Jane Ann McCaffrey, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel, located at 1721 Park Street, Perry, Iowa 50220. The visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. all at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel, located at 1721 Park Street, Perry, Iowa 50220. Interment will take place at Valley View Cemetery in Perry. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 3, 1945, Jane was the daughter of Elston and Merna (Derry) Kinney. She was raised on a farm near Panora, Iowa, and graduated from Panora High School with the Class of 1963.

On September 12, 1975, Jane married Robert “Bob” McCaffrey, and together they made their home in Boone, Iowa. For many years, she worked as a medical secretary at Iowa Cardiac Surgery Associates, where she was known for her dedication and kindness.

Jane was an avid animal lover, especially devoted to her dogs and horses. She took great joy in her vegetable and flower gardens, enjoyed working on word searches, and had a passion for adult coloring books. Her love for her family was her greatest treasure.

She is survived by her son Todd Anderson (Kathy) of Sheldahl, Iowa; daughter Janan Miller (Joseph) of Boone, Iowa; grandchildren: Staff Sergeant Dalton Anderson, USFA Overseas, Katelyn Jane (Tyler) Hulsey of Murray, Iowa, Alex (Ashley) Brownlee of Des Moines, Iowa, Adam Brownlee of Osceola, Iowa, Emma (Coy) Peebles of Belle Plaine, Iowa, Sarah Koenig of Des Moines, Iowa, and Olivia Koenig of Des Moines, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Keely, Addison, Bennett, Henley, Rhett, and one on the way; along with other relatives and many friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob McCaffrey.
