Jane Rorke Obituary
Jane “Sue” Rorke (nee Meagher), age 77, of Media, PA, passed away on July 22, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Jane Meagher (nee Keough).
Sue was known for her infectious laughter and kind demeanor. With great enthusiasm, she embraced her hobbies, frequently spending her leisure time bowling at Wynnewood Lane and Bowlero, where her competitive yet friendly nature shone brightly. Sue also held a profound affection for the shore, with Rehoboth Beach and the Villas in New Jersey claiming a special place in her heart. Countless summers were spent savoring the gentle ocean breeze and the sound of waves lapping at the shore. It was here, amidst sun and sand, that she relished simple pleasures, such as indulging in french fries and Nathan's Hot Dogs from the renowned boardwalk at Wildwood—a testament to her love for the little things in life. Yet, nothing compared to the joy she experienced when surrounded by her grandchildren, for it was in their laughter that she found her greatest fulfillment.
Sue was the beloved wife of Peter J. Rorke, III; loving mother of Diane Flenner (Thomas), Peter J. Rorke, IV (Annette), Jeannine Pozzuolo, and James R. Rorke (Gloria); adoring grandmother of Danny, Brian, Lindsay, Samantha, Joey, Nick, Peter, Brandon, Stella, and Sophia; caring great-grandmother of Thomas, Macy, Callie, Jamie, Finley, Millie, Nora, and Neeve; devoted sister of Janice Donofrio (Joe), Barbara Dougherty (Bob), Brian Meagher (Kris), and the late James Meagher. Also survived by her sister-in-laws, Susan Lawler and Mary Ellen Ventrella, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to Sue’s Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment Private.
