Opelousas – A Mass of Christian Burial for Jane F. Thibodeaux will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, Louisiana. Father Matthew Higginbotham will celebrate the Mass. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, May 20, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m., with the visitation continuing until 1:30 p.m.
Jane F. Thibodeaux, known for her warm and loving presence, passed away on May 17, 2024 She was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Born on March 27, 1939, Jane's life was filled with love and cherished moments with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Jane's proudest accomplishment was being a member of the Immaculate Conception Altar Society and a Eucharistic Minister, where she dedicated her time to serving the Lord and others with compassion and generosity. Her selfless nature and unwavering dedication touched the hearts of many.
One of Jane's greatest joys was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than gathering around the table with loved ones, sharing stories, and enjoying a meal of boiled crawfish and crabs. These precious moments filled her heart with happiness and contentment.
In addition to her passion for family gatherings, Jane had a talent for sewing, cooking, and quilting. Her creative spirit shone through in every stitch and dish she made, leaving behind beautiful memories for those she loved.
She is survived by her son, Greg Thibodeaux and his wife, Vicky of Washington; her daughter, Monica Vidrine and her husband, Danny of Sunset; her brothers, Milburn “Booger” Fontenot of Grand Prairie and Kenny Fontenot and his wife, Mercedes of Denham Springs; her sister, Shirlene Matt and husband, Tubby of Washington; her grandchildren, Jayun Thibodeaux, James Thibodeaux, Eryn Thibodeaux, Madison Vidrine, Olivia Vidrine, Gregory Stears and his wife, Heather, Summer Vigal and Brantley Vidrine; her great-grandchildren, Emmett Thibodeaux and Ella Vasseur; and a host of other dear family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Jack” Thibodeaux; her parents, Frank and Aurelia Fontenot; her brother, Andrew Fontenot; and her sisters, Linda “Blacky” Gaspard, Lucinda Elliott and RoseMay Fontenot.
Pallbearers will be Jayun Thibodeaux, James Thibodeaux, Danny Vidrine, David Gaspard, Matthew Vidrine and Troy Fontenot.
May Jane F. Thibodeaux rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
