Jane Transou Obituary

Jane Transou

Sep 30, 1943 - Dec 30, 2025

Jane Transou, 82, of Lewisville, N.C., passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, surrounded by family. Jane was born on September 30, 1943, in Forsyth County, to the late Spencer and Stella Reich. From an early age, she carried a deep compassion for others, a trait that would define her life's work and the way she loved those around her. Jane devoted nearly forty years to her career as a nurse, most notably serving patients at Winston-Salem Health Care. Her dedication and kindness touched countless lives. To her granddaughters, visits to the doctor's office as children were made special simply because that meant seeing their beloved "Nanaw", whose warm presence brought comfort even on difficult days. Outside of her profession, Jane found joy in singing in her church choir and caring for animals of every kind. Above all, her greatest love was her family, especially her daughter, granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. Jane was a treasure hunter and had a thoughtful gift for making people feel seen and known, often delighting loved ones with carefully chosen gifts that reflected their unique personalities. Jane is survived by her daughter, Christina Herko (Daniel); her granddaughters, Catherine Nelson (Nick) and Sara Filipponi (Aaron); her cherished great-grandchildren, Ali, Kate, Joey, and Liam; her sister, Margaret Boggs; her brother, Dub Reich (Dare); her special sister-in-law, Terry Anderson (Ernie); and several nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Stella Reich; and her longtime friend, Bob Vogler.

A funeral service will be held on January 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Concord Methodist Church in Lewisville, N.C. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors who cared for Jane at both Clemmons Medical Center and Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.
