CARBONDALE - Janet Arlene Anderson, age 80, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Janet was born on May 25, 1945 in Bakersfield, CA to Dale and Ruth (Baughn) Oxford. Janet married Jimmy Anderson of Herrin, IL. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2007.

Janet loved the Christian faith above all else. She was also an enthusiast of motorcycles and was proud of her motorcycle ministry. She was fond of poodles and had many throughout her life. Janet was kind, gentle and a dreamer.

Janet is survived by two sons, Patrick and Eric Anderson, her grandson Jacob Anderson, her great-grandson, Aries and her sister Diane Whitmore.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Anderson; parents, Ruth and Dale Oxford; and brother, Wayne Oxford.

Janet's wishes were to be cremated and the family will hold a private service to lay her to rest at Bald Knob Cross of Peace in Alto Pass.

Memorials in Janet's name may be made to Bald Knob Cross of Peace at PO Box 35; Alto Pass, IL 62905 or Herrin House of Hope at 112 N. 14th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
