Janet K. Campbell, 75, of Topeka, earned her wings and joined her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

She was born April 26, 1949, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of William and Nonie (Magee) Light. Janet graduated from Topeka West High School in 1967 where she was a cheerleader. She attended Kaw Area Vocational School and earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree. 

Janet took pride in helping others and worked for over 30 years as an LPN. She dedicated many years to Stormont Vail Hospital.

Janet married Edward H. Campbell on June 12, 1992 in Topeka, KS

Ed and Janet were active members of Countryside United Methodist Church. They served as greeters and Janet helped with the blood pressure checks for other members. 

She enjoyed volunteering at Helping Hands Humane Society. 

Her and Ed were also members of the PT Cruiser Club in Topeka where they enjoyed traveling to various car shows and events. They won over 70 awards together. 

Janet was the hostess with the mostest and loved to throw a good holiday party. She never forgot a birthday or important event and often would send cards to celebrate. Janet enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved her K- State Wildcats and KC Chiefs and enjoyed cheering them on. Her and Ed took a karate class together. In her spare time, Janet sold jewelry for Cookie Lee and was an Avon Representative. 

She will be remembered for her joke telling and for all the love she had for her family. 

She leaves behind her husband, Ed Campbell; her daughter, Nicole (Scott) Boxx; two step-sons, Matthew (Kristie) and Joseph (Amy Marie) Campbell; grandchildren, Ella Boxx, Crew Campbell, Daxton Campbell, Ellie Campbell, Alexis Wilkerson and Tanner Stark ; sisters, Carole (Frank) Harlem, Linda (Del) Strasheim and Billie (Scott) Gebhart; her four nieces and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A Celebration of Janet’s Life will be held at 10:00 am., Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Countryside United Methodist Church, 3221 SW Burlingame Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66611. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604.
