Janet K. (Elzea) Chacon, 74, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 4:54 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at University Hospital Columbia in Columbia, MO.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Rev. Mark Drazba will officiate. Burial will be at Flint Hill Cemetery in New London, MO.
The funeral service will be live streamed through the James O'Donnell Funeral Home. Follow the link on our Tribute Wall or go to https://my.gather.app/remember/janet-k-elzea-chacon. The live stream will start shortly before the service begins.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Janet was born April 21, 1951, in Quincy, IL to Joseph Elzea and Maxine Powell Elzea.
Other survivors include five children, Michelle K. Riley, Michael Ray McBride, Steve W. McBride, Henry T. Blackwell Jr., and Cory D. Blackwell; two brothers, Mike Elzea (Chris), and Mark Elzea; two sisters, Debra Gibbons, and Cindy Young (Alex); several grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Joseph Lee Elzea; brother-in-law, Terry Gibbons; and two nephews, Jo Jo Elzea, and Markie Elzea.
Janet was a homemaker. She lived a simple life and loved shopping at Walmart and eating out for Chinese and at Golden Coral. Janet enjoyed watching The Golden Girls and the ID Channel. Most of all she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.
Janet was Christian by faith.
Pallbearers will be Mark Elzea, Bobby Pierce, Aaron DeClue, Robert Pierce Jr., Bobby Elzea, Joe Elzea, and Austin Gollaher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Anesa Hickman, LeShele McBride, Michelle Riley, Debra Gibbons, Michael McBride Jr., Steven McBride, Henry Blackwell Jr., Cory Blackwell, Lisa White, Robyn Pierce, and Mike Elzea.
