Janet Clavier Obituary
Janet Scott Clavier of Dover, Delaware, passed away on February 19 at the age of 89. Janet was born in Pomeroy, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jackson K. Scott and Esther Ayres Scott.
She was preceded in death by sister Emma Tracey and brothers Jackson K. Scott, Jr. and Earl Scott.
Janet is survived by her husband of 69 years, Walter, two sons, Walter Scott Clavier (Patti) and Mark H. Clavier (Jeanmarie) and a daughter, Karen L. Babcock (Leonard) along with five grandchildren, Kasey Babcock Frohnapfel, Kenneth Babcock, Kevin Clavier, Steven Clavier and Michael Clavier and three great grandsons, Hunter Frohnapfel, Owen Frohnapfel, Mateo Babcock and her sister Doris Scott Anderson.
Following high school, Janet worked as a secretary at Lukens Steel Co. until her children were born after which she delighted in being a homemaker. She enjoyed socializing with friends, family and neighbors. She was always the life of the party and loved hats. Janet joined in her husband's wanderlust and traveled with him to 49 states and 9 Canadian provinces on a motorcycle. After Walter retired from Verizon they bought a tractor trailer and drove throughout 48 states with Janet often taking the wheel during the three years they were on the road. For their next venture, they designed and received a U.S. Patent for truck window screens. They manufactured, packaged and marketed the screens for 13 years while traveling extensively in motor homes visiting family and friends. She enjoyed bringing her grandchildren along on summer trips and made every excursion a great adventure. Janet and her husband finally settled down, spending winters in Florida for several years.
At Mrs. Clavier's request there will be no services. Burial will be at Unionville, PA cemetery.
