Janet S. (Bower) Daley, 88, of Mount Vernon, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Janet was born September 27, 1936, in Danville, Ohio to the late Charles and Lena (Barnes) Bower. She was a 1954 graduate of Mount Vernon High School and she worked many years in retail at Kmart and Staples, both in Mount Vernon. She was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Temple where she enjoyed spending time with the ladies group.
She married George R. Daley of Johnstown, Pennsylvania on February 13, 1954, in Liberty, Indiana. They lived in New Jersey and Florida before returning to Mount Vernon.
She is survived by four children, Ellen Daley, George Robert (Marissa) Daley Jr., Pamela (Wayne) Jones and Thomas (Tressa) Daley, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, George in August 2024, her parents, a brother and six sisters.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 27 at 12:00 in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the family.
