Janet Coombe Davis, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, at her home in Pembroke, Virginia. Born on March 7, 1952, in Virginia, Janet's life was marked by her unwavering spirit, love for her family, and dedication to her country.
Janet's early years in Virginia set the stage for a lifetime of service and creativity. She joined the United States Army Military Intelligence, where she served with distinction, earning the respect and admiration of her peers. Her work in military intelligence showcased her sharp mind and her unwavering commitment to the nation's security.
After her honorable service, Janet channeled her passion into her hobbies, which included the intricate craft of woodworking and the meticulous art of diamond painting.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Davis and Michael Davis; her grandchildren, Justin Davis (Maddy Atkins), Alyssa Daniels (Kevin), and Erika Hope Shedd (Steven Shedd). She also leaves behind her devoted brother, Rick Coombe, and her sisters, Dorothy Coombe and Marian Hess. Janet's cherished dog, Mia, was a loyal companion who provided comfort and joy in her final years.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Coombe and Dorothy Noetzel Coombe; her beloved daughter, Selena Hope Davis; her sisters, Nancy Richardson and Martha McConnell; her brothers-in-law, Larue and Clarence, and sister-in-law, Carol Coombe.
There will be no service held for Janet at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Kendall Funeral Home to assist in offsetting the cost of funeral expenses. A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Davis family.
