Remembering Janet Louise Fox - A loving tribute
Janet Louise Fox (née Wilhoit) peacefully passed from this earth at 90 years young on Monday, July 7th, 2025, at her home in Sabina, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.
Janet was born on June 19th, 1935, in Middletown, Ohio, to her mother, Virginia Millard, and her father, William Wilhoit. Janet was fortunate to have a caring stepfather, Everett Millard, who loved her as if she were his own child. Janet cherished her mother and stepfather, and they cherished her in return.
She was raised in Middletown, Ohio, and graduated from Middletown High School in 1953. Janet met her beloved husband, Jack Dale Fox, at a high school dance in 1951, and they married shortly after she graduated on June 26th, 1953. They were married for 68 wonderful years before her dear Jack passed away at the age of 90 on June 17th, 2021. They are now reunited in love and spirit.
When Janet and Jack first married, they created a loving home for their family on Jack's family farm in Miamisburg, Ohio. In 1970, they relocated to New Vienna, Ohio, and started a new life on their new farm. Janet always said she was a city girl, but Jack's love swept her off her feet and into the life of a farmer's wife. Janet maintained her city girl style by working in retail fashion for many years and always found a family of friends wherever she went.
During the Korean War, Janet also moved with Jack to Hermosa Beach, California, to support him while he was stationed in the U.S. Army on domestic duty. She loved living in California, which sparked a lifelong passion for travel. Janet enjoyed visiting nearly anywhere, but some of her favorite places included Oahu, Hawaii; Key West, Florida; and San Francisco, California.
Janet is survived by her loving children: Mike Fox, Kathy Fox (née Frinack), Scott Fox, Cathy Fox (née Dean), Steven Fox, Brian Fox-Krawczyk, Kelly Fox Cooper, and her son-in-law, Chuck Boggs.
Her adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren also survive Janet: Tracy Mongold (née Fox), Ashley Mongold, Kale Mongold, Michael Fox, Jessica Fox (née Gearing), Joseph Fox, Austin Fox, Paisley Fox, Elena Fox, Taylor Fox, Brant Fox, Mathew Fox, Marcus Fox, Jacob Fox, Brooke Fox (née Aills), Sloane Fox, Jason Fox, Kelsey Fox (née Crago), Zayden Fox, Trent Fox, Landry Fox, Adam Boggs, and Tara Boggs. Janet is also survived by her sister-in-law, Carrol Wilhoit, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Janet is preceded in death and will be reunited with her sister, Delorise Ann Wilhoit; her mother, Virginia Millard; her father, William Wilhoit; her stepfather, Everett Millard; her daughter, Shelly Boggs (née Fox); her granddaughter, Ashley Fizer (née Boggs); her sons-in-law, Chic York and Mike Cooper, and her brother, Billy Wayne Wilhoit.
