Janet P. Gomes

Janet P. Gomes (Bresciani) of Raynham, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 80.

Janet was born in Brockton and grew up on her family farm in Bridgewater. Her love of animals was a staple in her life. In recent years, Janet had a special place in her heart for her rescue cat Baby and her grand-pup Murph. True to her farmgirl upbringing she never missed watching the Kentucky derby and enjoyed attending PBR bull riding events. Whenever animals were involved, Janet was there. Later in her years she took an interest in Asian culture.

Janet was the owner of Country Curls hair salon for over 50 years, where she not only built a strong clientele but many lifelong friendships. Janet was a talented cook, and her chocolate chip cookies were a staple to all the neighborhood children. Janet enjoyed reading and watching films and movies. Her main passion in life was spending time with those she loved, especially her children and grandchildren. Janet will be remembered for her hardworking and loving personality. She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Adrian A. Gomes. Loving mother of Brian Gomes and his wife Joan of Taunton, Jeff Gomes and his wife Jennifer of Halifax, and David Gomes and his partner Lindsay of Sutton. Adored Meme of Jake and his fiancé Hannah, Victoria and her husband Jake, Jason, Mia, and Joe. Cherished great grandmother of Cameron Elizabeth. Caring sister of Carolyn Breuche, the late Jack Bresciani and Ronnie Bresciani. Also survived by her dearest friend Ginny Teed and by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 2-4 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home (Prophett Chapel), BRIDGEWATER. A celebration of life service will follow at 4 PM in the Chapman Funeral Home, BRIDGEWATER.
